In the summer of 2021, a woodland ant is placed on a wrist and allowed to walk up the length of a freckled arm. As the ant travels, an assistant follows the creature with a felt-tip pen – tracing the meandering path onto the host’s skin with black ink. The next day in a local tattoo parlour the fading ink path becomes a permanent tattoo – a record of a brief encounter and a small journey.
