A figure is seen pacing the shore an intertidal sandbank that lies off the coast of Norfolk, UK. As the tide rises, and the land diminishes, the circles that the figure traces grow smaller and smaller. Over 3 hours the trajectory of the figure spirals slowly inwards until the figure’s feet disappear under the waves. The figure still attempts to walk until his head disappears beneath the rising water and the sea is left empty and open.
